IQAC – Internal Quality Assurance Cell

The establishment of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in Dr. R. A. N. M Arts and Science College is a major step in instituting long-term quality standards. The IQAC cell was instituted at Dr. R. A. N. M College in June 2016 based on the recommendations of NAAC. The cell is actively involved in channelizing efforts and measures towards achieving academic excellence.

All academic plans are initiated, planned and supervised by the IQAC. The Cell employs various means in consonance with the guidelines provided by the council in order to achieve holistic academic excellence.

Qualitative Improvement of Teaching & Learning Processes are facilitated by organizing Conferences / Workshops / Seminars periodically on teaching pedagogy and multidisciplinary areas of relevance. Faculty members are motivated to synthesize research into teaching. Periodic Academic Audits by external subject experts help in monitoring the quality parameters of Teaching Learning Process, which is evaluated through a sound feedback mechanism involving the various stakeholders.

Student Progression is ascertained by the mentoring system which ensures holistic development, paving way for career advancement. The activities of the College are well documented electronically through the College Information System.

The IQAC at Patrician is an integral body that provides accountability to all its stakeholders. A few of its activities include Open Forum, Structured feedback from all its stakeholders, Quality Initiatives, and evolving newer practices that helps the College steer through the vision, mission and its principles.

Objectives

  • To provide a sound basis for decision making to improve institutional functioning.
  • Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks.
  • Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and functioning of the support structure and services
  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education.
  • Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR), National Institutional Ranking Framework Data (NIRF) and All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) based on the quality parameters. Role of IQAC Curriculum Development.
  • To conduct yearly internal and external audit for all programmes to assess the level of attainment of its proposed vision and mission Students.
  • Equitable access to and affordability of academic programmes for various sections of society
  • To arrange for periodic assessment and accreditation of institutions of higher education or units thereof, or specific academic programmes or projects.
  • To encourage self-evaluation, accountability, autonomy and innovations in higher education.
  • Development of Quality Culture in the institution.
  • To organise a minimum of two pedagogical training programs per year for new teaching faculty and for those who require additional training.
  • The credibility of evaluation procedures Staff.
  • To organize at least one common skill-development program per year for the supporting staff Support Staff.
  • To conduct at least one skill development program for the Administrative and Support Staff Teaching-Learning
  • To achieve 100% utilization of online portals and educational apps for all faculty
  • To register and complete at least one MOOC course per year Co-Curricular Activities
  • To organize national / international conference or Student Seminar every two years such that major disciplines have a conference once in 5 years.
  • To conduct coaching classes for national level competitive exams Consultancy.
  • To sign MoUs or enter into collaborations with industries for mutually-beneficial interaction and organize joint programs Library.

  • To design and implement of annual plan for quality enhancement based academic and co-curricular activities.
  • To receive feedback from stakeholders on the institutional functionalities.
  • To organize workshops, seminars, faculty development programme and student development programmes along with the departments.
  • To advocate Internationalization and Institutionalization of quality enhancement policies and best practices.
